Lester-Irabinna Rigney

Lester-Irabinna Rigney is an Australian Aboriginal educator, academic and member of the Narungga, Kaurna and Ngarrindjeri peoples from the southern regions of South Australia.

He has worked in Aboriginal education for over 20 years. He is currently Professor of Aboriginal Education at the School of Education Research Centre at the University of South Australia.

Previously he was Dean Indigenous Education at the University of Adelaide, as well as Director of Wirltu Yarlu Aboriginal Education and Director of the Yunggorendi First Nations Centre at Flinders University.

He graduated with a degree in Education, then with a PhD. 

He has written hundreds of articles and is known for his theorization of the epistemologies of indigenous research and Aboriginal education.
