Professor Emerita of Pedagogy at the Department of Childhood and Youth Studies at Stockholm University.
Since 1971 she has carried out research studies in the field of education and social policies for children and their families. She has also worked as an expert with several national committees in the field of education policies. For thirty years she has been conducting research in close collaboration with the schools in the city of Reggio Emilia.
She has written numerous publications and is co-author, together with Peter Moss and Alan Pence, of “Beyond Quality in Early Childhood Education and Care” on the theme of evaluation in the educational field inspired by the values and pedagogical strategies of Reggio Emilia. With Professor Moss she also wrote “Ethics and Politics in Early Childhood” and was co-curator of the well-known series “Contesting Early Childhood Education”, published by Routledge Publishing Company.
