Officina Educativa is a service of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia that deals with the right to education for those over 6 years of age.
The main lines of work of this service are:
- The right to study
- Territorial educational services from 6 to 14 years old
- The importance of being protagonist, youth creativity, the promotion of healthy lifestyles as expressions of young people’s right to full involvement in the social, cultural and decision-making processes of the city.
- The university as a research element that is not only academic but also open and in dialogue with the city.
Officina Educativa works in constant dialogue with the territory, within a framework of synergies and close collaboration with the many stakeholders around the world of schools and young people: educational agencies, public and private institutions, associations, sports clubs, parishes, social centres, schools, families, citizens, young people as well as municipal services that deal with education in various ways.

Three new quality educational contexts have emerged from outdoor, passing through or underused spaces at the Galileo Galilei middle school and at the Marco Polo primary school in Reggio Emilia.
Flags4Rights – 100 flags for rights
An open-air exhibition of 100 artworks created by children and young people from all over the world installed in the city centre of Reggio Emilia on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
