Maddalena Tedeschi is the new President of Reggio Children srl

Pedagogista Maddalena Tedeschi, a well-known figure in the field of early childhood education (0–6) and for over thirty years deeply engaged in the Reggio Emilia educational system, has been appointed the new President of Reggio Children srl.

During the shareholders’ meeting, held on Monday, September 29 at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre, the entire Board of Directors was also renewed. The Board has been expanded from three to five members and, alongside the President, now includes Francesca Baldi, Elena Bertolini, Paolo Lasagni, and Manuela Pecorari.

The appointments were ratified by the shareholders’ meeting, which included the Municipality of Reggio Emilia (majority shareholder), the minority shareholders Fondazione Reggio Children – Loris Malaguzzi International Centre ETS, and a representation of small shareholders.

“These are all individuals with proven expertise and experience,” stated Mayor Marco Massari and Councillor for Educational Policies Marwa Mahmoud, “who together certainly form a high-profile Board of Directors, as Reggio Children srl deserves. We have therefore chosen to expand its composition, from three to five members, to give new impetus to a thirty-year experience, a precious heritage for the municipal schools and for the entire city. In wishing the President and the new Board of Directors the best of success, we also take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Board for the work carried out in recent years.”

The profile of the new President

Maddalena Tedeschi is a pedagogista and former Head of a Complex Organizational Unit within the Municipality of Reggio Emilia’s Infant-Toddler Centres and Preschools Institution. A graduate in Pedagogy from the University of Bologna, she has worked in the municipal educational system since 1981: first as an educator, and since 1991 as pedagogista within the pedagogical coordination team.

She has also collaborated with Reggio Children on editorial projects, exhibitions, seminars, and professional development initiatives in Italy and abroad, and is author and curator of articles, exhibitions, and publications related to the Reggio Emilia educational experience.

The members of the new Board of Directors

• Francesca Baldi, attorney admitted before the Court of Cassation, graduated in Law from the University of Parma. She is President of Baldi & Partners, a firm of lawyers and accountants specializing in national and international legal, tax, and accounting consultancy, and Vice President of Baldi Finance S.p.A.

• Elena Bertolini, member of the Board of Directors of Fondazione Reggio Children, is CEO of the Accento Social Cooperative and Vice President of Quarantacinque, a consortium of social cooperatives.

• Paolo Lasagni, President of Impact Hub Reggio Emilia – a hub for knowledge sharing and innovative ideas – is CEO of KF Economics s.r.l., a company providing services for the financial soundness of businesses. He also works as a consultant and trainer in business digitalization and digital education, and has previously served as a member of the City Childhood Council.

• Manuela Pecorari, with a degree in Anthropology and Contemporary History, is a graphic designer and Creative Director at Le Maus. She has worked on the design of various publications and has contributed to experimental projects in the creative field for major Italian brands.

The shareholders’ meeting also confirmed the current Board of Auditors, composed of Valerio Fantini, Silvia Pattacini, and Mirco Zucca, and appointed two new alternate members: Andrea Davoli and Marco Moretta.
