Special August Openings for "Di Onda in Onda" at the Ligonchio Hydroelectric Plant
After its late July presentation, the Water and Energy Atelier in Ligonchio welcomes visitors with self-guided visits
After the preview presentation on July 26 and 27, “Di Onda in Onda – Atelier of Water and Energy” at the Ligonchio Hydroelectric Plant will reopen its doors for selected days in August. These are special openings with self-guided visits, offering the opportunity to explore the space and learn about the project of redevelopment and new set-up. Guided tours are not scheduled. Admission is free and open to audiences of all ages. This is still an evolving project, which will resume activities for schools starting in September.
The August opening calendar is as follows: Saturday, August 9 in the afternoon from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and Sunday, August 10 from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Openings continue on Sunday, August 17 from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, then on Saturday, August 23 in the afternoon from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and conclude on Sunday, August 24 from 10 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
“Di Onda in Onda – Atelier of Water and Energy” is an educational, cultural, and scientific space where, through 17 different “explorations”, visitors can engage with and learn about themes ranging from water, sun, and energy to climate and sustainability. Rooted in the specific identity of the territory, the space combines the atelier experience inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach, the scientific perspective of the laboratory, and the interactivity of the experiential museum.
The initiative was funded and made possible by the Municipality of Ventasso, in collaboration with the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park, thanks to funding awarded in 2022 by the European Union – Next Generation EU, through the PNRR – National Recovery and Resilience Plan, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture, under the program “Attractiveness of Historic Villages – Local Regeneration Project” for the initiative “Ligonchio: Where Energy Becomes Culture.”
Project partners include the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park, Fondazione Reggio Children – Centro Loris Malaguzzi ETS, the Department of Sciences and Methods for Engineering of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, in collaboration with Reggio Children srl, Lapis Architetture Studio with architect Carlo Margini, and Enel Green Power.
