The set-up video of Caffarri, the new research center of Fondazione Reggio Children, is online!

We are excited to announce that the set-up video of Caffarri, created by Andrea Mafrica and accompanied by soundscapes crafted using the sounds of the Caffarri space thanks to MaMiMò Teatro Piccolo Orologio, has been published on our YouTube channel!

Our new space, born within the former Caffarri building, is an industrial heritage site located in the heart of the Santa Croce district in Reggio Emilia. Since 2024, one of the available lots has been entrusted to Fondazione Reggio Children, which has established its research laboratories there, dedicated to quality education, solidarity, regeneration, and creative learning.

This environment has been designed to inspire curiosity and innovation, fostering dialogue, interaction, and inclusion in every corner. The set-up, curated by the architectural studios MPA Architects and Total Tool Srl, preserves the industrial identity of the building, characterized by a large nave with brick columns framed in iron and two large silos. Thanks to mobile furnishings and dynamic spaces, the center adapts to the needs of a diverse audience: children, families, educators, researchers, and citizens of all ages and backgrounds.

Each area of the center is distinguished by a color that reflects its function: Yellow Light, Sunrise Orange, Shadow Green, Cosmic Violet, Dream Magenta, Ruby Red, and Rain Blue.

Making this space even more unique is the artistic intervention by David Tremlett, who created The Organ Pipes on the building’s exterior façade. This permanent artwork visually marks a place dedicated to education, creativity, and community gathering.
