Last Weekend of Special Opening for “Di Onda in Onda” at the Ligonchio Hydroelectric Plant

Over 1,200 Visitors Since the Inauguration

On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 August, it will be possible to visit “Di Onda in Onda – Water and Energy Atelier” freely and for free, the innovative educational space at the Ligonchio Hydroelectric Plant, before school-oriented activities resume in September.

Since its inauguration on 26 and 27 July, and the first special openings on 9, 10, and 17 August, over 1,200 visitors of all ages have already had the opportunity to explore the new exhibition. The atelier will be open on Saturday 23 August in the afternoon from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Sunday 24 August from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

The space invites visitors of all ages to discover different aspects of energy, from water waves to electromagnetic waves, through play, experimentation, and dialogue. Inside the historic 1922 plant, visitors can interact with 17 “ExploreMinds”, prototypes designed to observe and understand physical and natural phenomena such as waves, magnetism, and water flows. Among the most appreciated installations are the “Gioconda” tank, the steel ball pathway “Tirigiro”, the “Magnetoteca”, and the interactive digital surface “E-flussi”.

The project was financed and made possible by the Municipality of Ventasso, Mayor Enrico Ferretti, in collaboration with the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park, chaired by Fausto Giovanelli, following the 2022 European Union – Next Generation EU funding award under the PNRR call promoted by the Ministry of Culture (MIC): “Attractiveness of Historic Villages – Local Regeneration Project” for the project “Ligonchio: Where Energy Becomes Culture”. Project partners include the Tosco-Emiliano Apennine National Park and the organizations directly involved in rethinking the exhibition and research project for the public: Fondazione Reggio Children – Centro Loris Malaguzzi ETS, chaired by Francesco Profumo and directed by Cristian Fabbi; the Department of Science and Methods of Engineering at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, led by Massimo Milani with Deputy Director Elena Degoli, in collaboration with Reggio Children srl, Lapis Architetture Studio with architect Carlo Margini, and Enel Green Power. The atelier is managed by the Il Ginepro social cooperative.
