"La Voce": the EMERGENCY Festival returns to Reggio Emilia

From 5 to 7 September 2025, Reggio Emilia will host the EMERGENCY Festival, this year titled “La Voce”.

Now in its fifth edition, the EMERGENCY Festival returns to Reggio Emilia with a rich programme of talks, workshops, performances, music, and art – all aimed at sparking reflection on the pressing issues of our time. This year’s theme, “La voce” (the voice), is understood as a creative, civil, and political act: an invitation to listen and to be heard, in order to build a fairer and more inclusive future. 

The Festival is promoted by EMERGENCY in collaboration with the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, and under the patronage of the Emilia-Romagna Region. For three days, the city’s main squares and symbolic places will host a collective dialogue between journalists, activists, artists, educators, and citizens, across languages and generations.

Fondazione Reggio Children will take part in the Festival on Saturday 6 September with two events at the Courtyard of the Panizzi Library:

3:00 PM – Edu-Lab | The body, a voice

A workshop open to all ages, dedicated to sensitively listening to the body and exploring our natural ability to move through simple, playful activities.
(Open to all ages. We recommend the presence of one adult companion per child and comfortable clothing.)

5:15 PM – Experiences | Lowering the volume of war

Cultivating imagination and empathy to give concrete shape to the utopia of abolishing war.
Children’s posters and illustrations are at the heart of a project by EMERGENCY and Fondazione Reggio Children: a year of ateliers, dialogue, and shared reflections between students and teachers at IC Gino Strada in Sesto Fiorentino becomes an opportunity now open to schools, libraries, and bookshops everywhere.
