Internazionale Kids in Reggio Emilia 2026

From May 8 to 10, Internazionale Kids returns to Reggio Emilia, the journalism festival dedicated to readers aged 8 to 14: three days of talks and workshops to ask questions, listen to stories, and discover new ways of understanding the world.

The rich and varied programme explores highly relevant and engaging topics: from artificial intelligence to Iran, from photography to pronouns, as well as comics, music, wild animals, lakes, embarrassing moments, and even the narrative universe of Agatha Christie.
An open invitation to curiosity and dialogue, designed for young audiences but able to engage people of all ages. 

The festival takes place across various locations in the city – including Piazza Martiri del 7 Luglio, Palazzo dei Musei, Teatro Cavallerizza, Teatro Valli, Mapei Stadium, Biblioteca delle Arti, and the Aula Magna of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia – transforming Reggio Emilia into a widespread space for discovery and participation.

All events are free and open to the public, with no booking required, as are the workshops. The only exception is for events hosted at Mapei Stadium, which require booking via Eventbrite. Talks last approximately 50 minutes, while workshops are freely accessible throughout the time slot indicated in the programme.

What would you like to be if you were an animal, a plant, or another kind of material? Stitch it, point by point, and take part in a collective artwork that weaves together stories, identities, and reclaimed materials, enhancing traditions from the past and new forms of expression.
