The adventure of the Cinemovel Foundation caravan to bring travelling cinema to the heart of Senegal beginsl

The director Matteo Garrone, actors Seydou Sarr, Moustapha Fall, Amath Diallo and cultural mediator Mamadou Kouassi, together with the staff of the Cinemovel Foundation from 15 to 27 April will travel the streets of Senegal to screen the film 'Io Capitano' in the cities, suburbs, towns and schools of the country: those places where the stories themselves were born.

Before moving on to the suburbs and regions, a preview will be held on 14 April in the beating heart of Dakar: the Medina district. Organised by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Dakar, the event is hosted by the Maison de la Culture Douta Seck, and open to the participation of all the inhabitants of Medina, where filming of the film began.

Support the project with the crowdfunding campaign 'Vengo anch'io - Io Capitano in Senegal con Matteo Garrone' on the Produzioni Dal Basso platform.

The project is promoted by Cinemovel Foundation and Matteo Garrone in a network with organisations rooted in the territory and active in the involvement of the younger generations.

The itinerary is built in collaboration with local realities and NGOs working in Senegal, such as ACRA, Amref Health Africa, Fondazione Munus, Fondazione Reggio Children - Centro Loris Malaguzzi and IPSIA Senegal.
