The European conference “A Roadmap for Educational Innovation through Schools and Communities in Europe” in Brussels

On 27 May 2026, from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm, the European Parliament in Brussels will host the conference “A Roadmap for Educational Innovation through Schools and Communities in Europe”, an event dedicated to the future of education and the role of schools as spaces for community and social innovation.

The initiative is being run as part of the Erasmus+ Widespread School project, coordinated by the Municipality of Reggio Emilia in collaboration with the E35 Foundation, alongside partners from Italy, Spain, Croatia and Finland: the Reggio Children Foundation, the Department of Education at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the Carme Auguet School and the University of Girona – a twin city of Reggio Emilia –, the city of Zadar, also a twin city of Reggio Emilia, and the Saunalahden School in Espoo.

The conference will bring together educators, researchers, policy-makers and local authorities from across Europe to discuss the role of schools as local educational ecosystems, capable of linking learning, culture and community.

Reggio Emilia will take centre stage with the participation of schools, universities, educational institutions and local organisations, bringing to the attention of Europe the innovative experiences and practices developed in recent years.
