The Hundred Languages of the Atelier and of Research: Friday, September 26, the 2025 Research Night Returns

On the occasion of Research Night 2025, promoted by Unimore – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the Caffarri and the Loris Malaguzzi International Center, with “The Hundred Languages of the Atelier and of Research”, invite families, young people, teachers, educators, researchers, citizens, and curious visitors of all ages to enjoy an afternoon and evening dedicated to experimentation, play, and discovery. 

Loris Malaguzzi International Center

4:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Curated by Reggio Children, the Municipal Infant-toddler Centers and Preschools – Institution of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, and Pause – Atelier of Tastes

The Loris Malaguzzi International Center welcomes children, young people, teachers, educators, researchers, tourists, citizens, and all those who are curious and eager to be amazed for an afternoon of research and ateliers. Visitors can freely explore the ateliers and exhibitions, meet the atelieristas in the various spaces, ask questions and hear stories, and discover the Hundred Languages. You can also browse the Bookshop, with its wide selection of picture books for children and publications by Reggio Children, or enjoy a snack at the Pause – Atelier of Tastes café.

Former Mangimificio Caffarri

6:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Curated by Fondazione Reggio Children – Loris Malaguzzi Center, Remida Creative Recycling Center, and the Reggio Childhood Studies PhD Program – Unimore

The evening continues at the former Mangimificio Caffarri, the research space of Fondazione Reggio Children and home to the PhD program in Reggio Childhood Studies. Here children and adults can meet researchers, take part in laboratories and explorations with Scintillae – play and learning in the digital age, a project developed in collaboration with The LEGO Foundation that explores the relationship between play and learning in the digital era, and join the creative pathways of Remida, dedicated to sustainability and the reuse of materials. Researchers of all ages share their stories, answer questions, and present their work and ideas, creating an atmosphere of play and discovery where the desire for knowledge becomes a journey to build together, day by day.

An opportunity to experience how educational research, creativity, and cross-disciplinary dialogue can illuminate both present and future.

Admission is free and the initiative is part of the official program of Unimore – University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
