Sunday, November 24 the appointment with Rights at the Center returns

On the occasion of the International Day for the Rights of Children and Adolescents, the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre and Ex Caffarri open their spaces to children and families with a kaleidoscope of possibilities between workshops, exploration, storytelling, play and fun.

Fondazione Reggio Children and Remida are waiting for you for an afternoon of visits, workshops and games in the renovated spaces of the Ex Mangimificio Caffarri.

WORKSHOP

1st shift from 15.00 to 16.00

• Fantastic creatures walking for the Caffarri: New fantastic creatures traveling between cards, spaces of the Caffarri and tablets. Starting from the creatures imagined by other children and suggestions of materials present in space, participants will be able to imagine new creatures and give them shape thanks to drawing. Through the digital animation app octostudio creatures can move between the virtual spaces of Caffarri.

           > For girls and children from 7 to 10 years (For each child we ask the participation of a maximum of 1 adult)

• Materials that make you feel good: A fluffy fleece, a long funny tube, a metal pendant that sounds with the wind. The waste material enhances sensory experience, communicates with a subtle but universal language, stimulates empathy, connects and consoles. On the occasion of Children’s and Adolescents' Rights Day, a workshop to help us with materials to promote our right to well-being and those we love.

VISIT OF THE FORMER CAFFARRI SPACES

From 3.30 - 4.30

A place that was once the carpentry of Officine Meccaniche Reggiane, then a feed mill, becomes a space dedicated to research, education and sustainability, in dialogue with the neighborhood, the city and the communities of the world.

At the former Caffarri in Reggio Emilia, located a few steps from the Loris Malaguzzi International Center and Reggiane Innovation Park, Fondazione Reggio Children  sets its research on quality education, solidarity, regeneration, social and environmental sustainability, Creative learning, seeking interactions and convergences and involving new partners.

The Ex Caffarri is also the new headquarters of Remida, the Creative Recycling Center in Reggio Emilia.

"The gym of questions"

How to cultivate creativity and give space to the different skills of children in formal and informal educational settings?

The motivation and passion of those who learn are fundamental levers in educational paths. This research-action includes two events (24 November 2024 and 23 February 2025) and aims to explore the use of open, inclusive and generative questions to accompany the natural curiosity of children. 

Activity carried out under the P.E.R. Play Explore Research project.

Programme at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre

Sundays at the Center: the morning program is aimed at teachers, educators, students and curious people with a rich proposal between workshops, guided tours and educational proposals. Discover the full program here.

From 3 pm onwards, the initiatives will be aimed at children and their families and will be held both at the International Center Loris Malaguzzi (Viale Ramazzini 72/ A, Reggio Emilia) and at the Ex Caffarri (Via Flavio Gioia 4, Reggio Emilia), just a few steps away.
