Remaking the world: presented the 2024 edition of Reggionarra
From 24 to 26 May 2024 returns to Reggio Emilia the festival of storytelling with approaches in the city and province from 20 May
«Let’s go and remake the world/ will serve good words/ strong words/ green words. / will serve the silence of the forests, the thought/ of all heads. / Serve days/ serve hands/ serve today’s anger/ and tomorrow’s peace». Ilaria Rigoli
Reggionarra borrows the verses of Ilaria Rigoli, poet and writer, who titles his collection A rifare il mondo (Bompiani Editore).
The task of this 18th edition, which will fill squares, streets, parks, libraries, courtyards, museums and theatres with professional storytellers and theatre companies, together with parents, children storytellers, writers, dancers, illustrators, students, Adults, girls and boys. Theatrical performances, fairy tales, stories, readings and workshops are the building blocks that will serve to start Remaking the world, starting with the choice of words. And never as now it seems to be needed.
HAVE SAID - Reggionarra 2024 was presented this morning in a press conference with the mayor of Reggio Emilia Luca Vecchi and the councillor for Culture, Tourism and Equal Opportunities Annalisa Rabitti, Davide Zanichelli director of the Foundation Palazzo Magnani and Maddalena Tedeschi educator of the Institution schools and nests for children of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, Monica Morini, curator of the festival.
Luca Vecchi, mayor of Reggio Emilia, said: "The inspiring theme of Reggionarra 2024 is ambitious and entirely relevant: To remake the world, with a clear reference to the environment, peace and dialogue. Reggionarra confirms also this year, in which it becomes 'adult' being the eighteenth edition, on the one hand its consolidation in the educational and socio-cultural fabric of the city and on the other hand its ability to regenerate, Redesigning ourselves at every opportunity and evoking an imaginary that calls our future into question, doing its part in characterizing our city. It is a festival that feeds the 'chemistry' of the city and at the same time feeds it, associating storytelling with childhood culture, children and families to the protagonist of the city. Reggionarra grows, also involves other municipalities of Reggio and is adopted by other countries, since South Africa will promote Africanarra. Growth which we hope will continue in the years to come".
